Golden naked oats mashed with dark crystal and robust roasted malts create a luscious black brew with a satin smooth finish. Layering UK Target hops in the boil adds a pleasant, earthy complexity while higher fermentation temperatures enhance the overall flavor with fruity esters. An old-world style, done the Green Flash way. Big, bold, flavorful and complex – Double Stout.

Bottle. Pours a dark and somewhat viscous brown with a smallish head and aromas of chocolate, oat, coffee, a little smoke and a hint of anise. Flavor is pretty nice too... chocolate is the main draw, maybe a little bitter edge to it, but there is a nice creaminess that is good. Yummy stuff.

Bottle from BrewDog online store. It pours jet black, with a decent tan head. The nose is roasted malt, dark chocolate, a touch of soy sauce, smoke and earth. The taste is roasted malt, charcoal, ash, bitter chocolate, dark fruit, earth and some bitterness, with a dry-roasted finish. Full body and moderate carbonation. Robust, full-flavour and fairly true to style. A great double/export stout.

65 cl bottle @ home, no BBE info
Aroma is slightly sweet with oat, some cocoa and dark chocolate. Flavour has chocolate, cocoa and some oat. Licorice, bitterness and hints of alcohol in the finish. Creamy palate with slightly too much CO2. Good, although not that good that I remembered.

From a 355ml bottle on 27/4/2012. Pours a very dark brown with a biggish, dissipating head. Has a nice strong roasty aroma with some dark chocolate and coffee. The flavour is predominantly sweet dark chocolate with some rich caramel. Finishes with a medium roasty bitterness. Is quite thick and weighty in the glass. A bold, flavoursome, impressive stout.

(Bottle, Bishop’s Arms Folkungagatan, Stockholm, 12 March 2012) Black colour with frothy, pale brown head. Roasted, malty nose with notes of caramel, dark bread, dark fruit, blackberries, coffee, liquorice and a touch of tobacco. Roasted, malty taste with chocolate, coffee, dark fruit, dark rye bread and a generous cocoa bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and in almost perfect balance. Lovely beer!
