Golden naked oats mashed with dark crystal and robust roasted malts create a luscious black brew with a satin smooth finish. Layering UK Target hops in the boil adds a pleasant, earthy complexity while higher fermentation temperatures enhance the overall flavor with fruity esters. An old-world style, done the Green Flash way. Big, bold, flavorful and complex – Double Stout.

Bottle. Pours black with a small light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, spices and caramel. Well balanced with a nice bitterness.

From a bottle, $3.50 at vintage. Pour is big and black and the aroma is quite attractive, roasty and clean. Very nice thin creamy head. First taste is oh my, trying to be an imperial stout. Yes, I have tasted imperial stouts much milder than this, not sure what the story is here, this should be styled an impy. Now I know why it rates so high on this website, its an impy masquerading as a stout. If you like impy stout, fine, try this but if you are just simply a stout lover, forget about this, its over the top. Near rude rototilling flavors from beginning to end. Big alky laced bitter somewhat choco thing in here. Bitter lingering finish, a little dissapointed in this one. I was expecting something a little more behaved for the style.

355 ml bottle @ Haket. Pours black with a creamy brown head that slowly dissipates while leaving some trace on the glass. Smell is sweet and malty with lightly roasted malts, dark chocolate, brown sugar, dried fruits, alcohol and a rather strange vegetable-like smell. Taste is sweet, bitter and malty with roasted malts, coffee, dark bread, brown sugar, hints of vanilla, tobacco and alcohol. Mouthfeel is creamy and full-bodied. Finish is bitter and slightly sweet with bitter chocolate and coffee.

Big dark brown, almost black, lasting head, keeps growing after I’ve finished pouring. Opaque black body. Smooth roasty minty aroma with chocolatey floral notes. Dry-sweet roasty chocolatey taste with earthy licorice notes. Velvety smooth mouthfeel. Fullish body. Dry roasty chocolatey burnt aftertaste with minty resiny wooden notes. Lovely! Highly drinkable, complex, full of flavour, and yet very harmonic. (0.65l bottle, wine monopoly, Vika, Oslo.)

Refrigerated bottle poured into a shaker. Pours coal black with two finger light brown head that dissapates some. Thing small bubble lacing, thick body, sticky texture, medium/light carbonation, and hop aroma. Taste is burnt malt, coffee, and bitter hop finish. More like a foreign stout than a regular stout.

Bottle @ home. Green Flash Double Stout pours a deep black apperance with a dark brown appearance that dissipates fairly quickly. S’mores-like aroma with a rich note of cocoa, roast, marshmallow, vanilla, and light espresso. Really a delicious, dessert-like aroma. Smooth creamy mouthfeel. Even more roastiness in the taste. Dark chocolate, vanilla, rich cocoa, light coffee, roasty, sweet flavor. Yummy dessert beer! Smooth as hell. I love you.
