In the summer of 2009, the brewery 3 Fonteinen from Beersel needed to sell its Lambic. Giovanni Campari, founder and brewmaster of our brewery, had the idea to use that Lambic for making a blend with our Saison New Morning. He chose three barrels containing 18-month-old Lambic. The result of the blend exceeded our most optimistic expectations. Today the Beersel Morning is produced with Lambic by Gert of Oud Beersel, the most awarded Lambic producer in international competitions.

From tap at Ma Che Siete, Rome. Hazy golden-orange color with white head. Funky fruity aroma, orange and peach, barnyard notes. Sweet and light sour taste, fruity and spicy. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.

$40 bottle of beer. Dang. but sour tickers gotta do it. So I grabbed this bottle in waterbury VT...waited 2 weeks for yeast to settle and split it 3 ways. Nose was bread-forward, sourdough and a nice earthy spice. Taste was great. Excellent mix of bread forward saison and tart wild lambic. I would love to try this again if not for the price. I imagine it’ll age very well.

[9/27/14] Draught sample at Borefts Beer Festival 2014 in Bodegraven. Hazy yellow. Nice funky aroma with oak and some lemon. Sour funky flavor with some fruits. Medium-bodied. Very nice!

@ Borefts 2014. Golden colour, white foam. Aroma of tart green apples with notes of spices (anise?) and citrus. Reminds me a bit of a sour saison. Good beer.

Draft at Ma Che Siete Venuti a Fa. Pours very hazy golden with a white head. Aroma is massive 3F Gueze upfront, barnyard, cobwebs, musty cellar, tart fruits, citrus. Flavor is light sweet and over moderate acidic. Medium to full bodied with moderate carbonation.

Cloudy white yellow color. Frothy white head. The nose is moderately tat with citrus, leather and oak notes. The mouth is medium body, acidic, but perfectly balanced with a decent malt back bone. Fairly agressove sour finish with oak and leather persisting. Excellent stuff.

Bottle - Perfume and medicinal, almost like a heat rub. Cloudy brown with a bubbly head. Light stone fruits and tart medicinal herbs. Nice.

About 3 glasses @ Lambiczoon, Milano. This beer rocks. Dorée trouble, col blanc moyen. Arôme est fruité et agréable avec ce petit bouquet d’agrumes notant le côté cuire-poussiéreux de 3F tout en ayant ce rétro-nasal un peu rustique belge de saison de la New Morning. Fruité est excellent et offre de belles notes citronnées et fleuris. Palais offre ici le subtil et savoureux mélangé de lambic et de saison. Le côté 3F est évidemment bien là mais fort bien balancé avec la bière de Ducato. Fruité agrumes, léger raisin rappelant un muscat. Effervescence moyenne avec cette combinaison et refermentation qui rapproche le produit final d’un style gueuze-saison. Acidité et le côté terreux est fantastique, discret et je note même sur la fin une fine pointe tropicale fruitée.
