It is hardly a secret that we at the Amager Brewery have a deep rooted love for Imperial Stouts - the noblest of all beers. In fact, we are constantly in the process of developing new variations of this fine beverage, this variation has eight malts and three hops. We are particularly proud to present what we feel is the king of hops: Zeus.
Amager Imperial Stout is a beer as black as mortal sin , crowned with the densest and most creamy light brown head. The coffee and chocolate accents are very distinct, but they come exclusively from the malt, while the aroma is rich with vanilla.
Amager Imperial Stout is in all respects a fierce beer for the more demanding and experienced beer drinkers who are not afraid to challenge their senses.
Ingredients: Water, barley malt, wheat malt, oats, brown sugar, hops and yeast

Black with a light brown head. Aroma is sweet, heavy malty, hard roasted malt, dark chocolate, vanilla and hoppy. Flavor is quite sweet and very bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish with some warming alcohol. Soft and full bodied. 260210

500 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård. Batch #150. ABV is 10.01%. Pitch black colour, impressive brown head. Lovely aroma of hops, heavily roasted malts, coffee and dark chocolate, hints of vanilla. The flavour has an intense bitterness from start to finish, both from the hops and the roasted malts - too much hoppy bitterness for mye taste, as it overshades the finer tones of 8 different malts. Also burnt notes, and notes of too strong coffee. Not enough sweetness to balance the bitterness. Ashy aftertaste.

Jet black pour with a tan head. Dark roast coffee, dark chocolate, licorice and vanilla aromas. A little smoke in the nose too. Dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, roasted malts and soy sauce flavours, Alcohol well hidden. Smooth, dry mouthfeel. Dry, smoky finish with a tinge of bitterness. Very nice.

Bottle. Black with a nice thick tan head. Typical aroma and taste of an Imperial Stout. Nice balance between the hops and the malt. I would not turn down an other bottle. Very nice with a great mouth feel.

Bottle that I got from Beers of Europe, consumed 22-12-09 Pours to all intents and purposes black, with large billowing brown head. Aroma is prodominantly hops but there is a very noticeable waft of bitter roasted coffee actually I think more like cappucino its not as bitter as I expected and creamier thinking about it, there is also some chocolate. The key aroma’s are very much replicated in the mouth, very similar in style to many of the big hitting well respected American Impy stouts, with the big hoppy profile, Loz noticed the chocolate more in the mouth than I did. Really nice stuff but one was enough. A7 A4 F7 P4 Ov14 3.6

500ml Bottle (Thanks Svesse) - Black with a tan head. Chocolate and chocolate cake and coffee in the aroma. The taste is rich with strong notes of coffee and chocolate along with some hops, roasted malt and a pleasant bitterness. The finish is a nicely balanced and smooth combination of bitterness with some roasted elements with more notes of coffee and chocolate standing out.
