Bottle from Tanakaya. Pours pitch black with a nice soapy milk chocolate head. Nose is cacao and espresso with some grassy and light citrus notes. Taste is a coffee bomb followed by lots of fresh cut grassiness. There is also a nice chunk of cacao. Very dry on the palate. This is by far the best black IPA I’ve had. Fantastic!

500ml bottle enjoyed for about an hour at Café Viking, Nørrebro. The oily pour reveals a deep black body topped by a fading fawn-coloured head, leaving dotted spots on the glass. Solid roasted dark malts on the nose, ashy dry. Delicious taste profile of coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice and ash. Lingering dark bitter tail, nicely roasted. Full bodied. Just lovely (Copenhagen 02.05.2015).

Bottle from Mikkeller Webshop; opaque black pour with a big mocha head, aroma had distinct pine, roast malts and some coffee, taste chocolate, pine background, roast malts, coffee, slick mouthfeel, if there was such a thing as a IBIPA this would hit the mark.
