It’s a bit boozy, but that varies a bit from bottle to bottle. Otherwise a good choice to get away from cheap Sekt.

0,75l bottle shared with some friends. BB 09/2019. yellow hazy color, medium white head. smells of parfume, corn, spices, honey, peppery, weird smell. full body, very bubbly carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes fruity, belgian yeasty, parfume, flowery, nutty, marzipan. finishes rather bubbly with notes of alcohol, fruits and spices. decent enough but quite bubbly and also alcoholic, okish, not the biggest fan.

Bottle from a trade with Werckmeister, many thanks. Pale golden color with big white head. Aroma is malty, sweet and tart fruits. Taste is big candied sugar and honey booze, slightly tart, typical Belgian Strong character. Carbonation is lower than expected, good. Maybe a little bit too boozy.

Bottle, jahrgang 2012, gift from my daugther, many thanks. Hazy orange golden color with thick white head. Aroma of oranges, malt, yeast, orange zest. Fruity (oranges), malty taste with some spices, yeast, light hoppy bitterness. Light fruit acidity. Tasty, would be interesting age it for some years.

Bottled(375ml). -Dark peach coloured, typical huge white head, recognizable Cascade nose. Very fruity and sourish taste with decent hops presence. Fresh acidic finish. Some small sediment at the bottom. Complex and interesting brut beer. Jahrgang 2008.

Bottle (vintage 2008) that ogivlado purchased at the brewpub and shared with me (thanks!). Poured a murky apricot body with a huge off white head that went away slowly. The Cascades used seem to dominate the nose, but a sweet grainy maltiness also reveals itself. Sourish too. The taste starts off dry, fruity with some Cascade too. Bitter hopiness, merging with a persistent, lingering herbal acidity in the finish and aftertaste. Notes of bubblegum too. The acidity is balanced by the fruity maltiness and the overall result is damn nice actually. Extremely complex and a very interesting beverage. One that might not have scored as highly on another day and with someone else, but still great. Gerhard Forstner, you rock!
