The first IPA brewed in Matuška Brewery combines Czech and American hops. The IPA kind of beer comes from the 19th century England. The East India Company exported beer to India, where England had its colonies, and because the beer had to survive the long trip, it was being made stronger and hoppier. Hops help protect the beer from bacteria. For our Raptor, we used a combination of Czech, English and American ingredients while using our brewing process.

0,75 l bottle. Pours golden yellow with big frothy lasting white head. Nice lacing. Aroma is mix of malt, pollen from Czech pilsner malt, citrus and tropical fruit. Taste is medium sweet, with pleasant mellow spicy bitterness, flavor of pilsner malt and tropical fruit. Body is medium, texture is slick, carbonation on the soft side. Finish is quite long, rather light spicy bitterness with some tropical fruit again. Nice and well balanced English style IPA with distinct Czech character. Thumbs up!

Keg at Zly Casy, Praha, 12/07/17. Clear golden with a decent off white head. Nose is melon, straw, citric sherbets, soft breads. Taste comprises orange pith, melon, tangerine, toasted grains, lemon rind. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a mellow hop bittering. Adequate IPA.

Tasted from the tap on the 09/05/2017. Golden colour with a medium white head. Aroma of tropical fruits, malts, hops and yeast. Taste is medium fruity with a soft caramel and malty finish. Next one please!

6.3 On tap at Funus, Bratislava. Dark gold to orange color, almost clear but also seen cloudy, maybe depends on the keg. Big creamy white head, persistent. Fresh fuity and resin smell. Full malty aroma, syrup, and some sugar, packed with loads of resiny hops providing tropical fruit pineapple, pine and grapefruit. Taste has a great curve and well balanced, light salty. Nice bitterness in the finish. Thick body oily texture. Soft, smooth very long aromatic finish. Alcohol level is perfect, not too strong and does not burn. Excellent west coast stuff from Matuska.

0.75 bottle. Clear golden, higher white head which quickly disappeared. Aroma is citrusy and malty. Taste of malt, resins, peppery and hidden citrus. Medium carbonation, oily texture, drinkable. I do somehow remember this to be better

Clear amber with little white head. Aroma is fresh citrus, little pine cone, more light fruits (apricots, lychee) and a lot of grass. Taste is fruity sweet fresh sour. Long finish of a little pine cone and more of the taste. Oily bubbly mouthfeel. Awesome.
