American hops dominate this Rye IPA, creating an assertive citrus and passion fruit character. An old-world flavor from rye malt adds the perfect compliment to Goose Juice’s big, satisfying hop flavor and aroma. Originally home-brewed by our beloved brewer Goose, its wonderful combination of flavors inspired us to brew this specialty IPA.

Nice super rich copper coloured body with a nice, tall, microfoamed five centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of rye (obvious), spice, white pepper, resin, pineapple, caramel and a bit of nice oranges. Medium-bodied; Assertive rye flavours up front with a lot of bitterness up front that fades to a smooth balanced flavour of specialty grains and good hops, all with some light sugars on the back end with a touch of mild spicey yeast. Aftertaste shows some nice rye notes that aren’t overpowering along with a good bitter hop flavour that shows a lot of resin and citrus and the whole beer ends with a pleasant sweetness and hardly any alcohol notes. Overall, a good beer, showing the rye characteristics, but a pleasant and non obtrusive beer for those who aren’t extremely fond of rye. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Discount Liqour in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on 05-September-2012 for US$7.49 sampled at home in Washington on the one week birthday of my first daughter, at 01h17 at 23-October-2012.

66cl bomber from Hopduvel, shared with Tomaz.

Bottle at Stockholm Beer and Whiskey Festival 2012. Hazy amber liquid with medium off-white head. Aroma of citrus, white pepper, coconut, grapefruit and dank hops. Taste is dry and medium bitter with notes of grapefruit and citrus. Medium bodied with low to medium carbonation. OK, but a bit too sweet for the style.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating(bottled some time in June most likely). Pours fairly hazy orange amber color with a nice 2 finger dense off white head with excellent retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Some spotty soapy lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of mango, orange, pine, rye, herbal, caramel, toast, floral, and citrus rind. Very nice aromas with good strength and balance. Taste of orange, mango, pine, caramel, rye, herbal, floral, toast, and citrus rind. Good amount of spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, mango, rye, caramel, toast, floral, orange rind, and herbal spiciness. Very nice balance of malt/hop flavors, with a great bitterness/sweetness balance as well. No cloying flavors or bitterness on the finish at all. Rye isn’t overdone either, just enough to make itself known. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly creamy and sticky mouthfeel that is very nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a small warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is an excellent Rye IPA! Great flavor balance with good hop complexity; and very smooth to sip on. Really enjoyed this one.

Fruchtig getreidiger Hopfenbeginn. Das Bier bleibt deutlich getreidig, der Roggen ist erkennbar. Viskos wirkend, hopfig, dunkler werdend. Leichte Süße, süffig. Er, leichte Kräuternoten. Würzig-süffiges IPA. 9/9/11/10/11/10

Very stable, good yellowish head over orange-amber beer, cloudy. Intense fruity (exotic fruit) nose; grapefruit, passion, lychee. Hopoils, straight lupuline. Something faintly solvent-like. Grapefruit, passion fruit, mango, orangepeel, apricot. Great choice of hops. Predicatbly little else, but it doesn’t really need more. Warming ujp, it acquires a slight dishwashing liquid aroma. Very slick, bit viscous, oily. Medium bodied. I’ll believe the rye. The hops... well, they might believe in me.

Bottled at SBWF. Hazy deep golden, small head. Hay-like hop aroma. Mid sweet with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Hops, mostly hay and some citrus, dominates. Mid bitter finish.
