Bottle, 0.5l. Thick black pour, two finger frothy beige head. Medium to long retention, thick lacing on the glass. Nice on the nose, strong roasted coffee and cocoa notes. Thin to medium body, soft carbonation. Average mouthfeel and texture, sadly a bit on the watery side. Roasty bittersweet taste. Aroma of roasted malt and caramel. Strong coffee notes. Cocoa powder, milk. A bit of forest fruits in the background. Hints of wood and coal. Roasty bitter finish, a bit dry. Overall, decent enough porter. Good aroma, slightly unbalanced taste. Fuller body would do wonders for this one, comes out a bit thin. Decent, but quite overpriced really.

On tap at Ljubljana Beer and Burger Fest, October 2017. Shared with lovely Anja! Dark brown to black, small tan head. Moderately hoppy, roasty, soy sauce, coffee, fruity. Roasty and mostly sweet. Medium body, moderate carbonation lasting coffee in the finish. Good but shy.

Bottle, 0.50l. Pours pitch black color with thin creamy light brown head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt, chocolate and licorice. Taste starts with medium sweet and rich roasted malt, follows by molasses, caramel and herbs, mouthfeel is dry and mild spicy, while finish is medium bitter. Medium body, slick texture and average carbonation in palate. Certainly a positive surprise...

On tap at Hop In Zagreb. Black coloured, small beige head, mild coffee/cappucchino in the nose. Light roasted malt, coffee, light chocolate, mild nutty and hint of smoke with mild bitterness in the finish. A bit too thin but pleasant.

On tap at Hop In. Black with a tiny tan head. Toasty aroma, dark malts, creamy, mild cappuccino, very light raisins. The taste is a bit on the sweet side, again dark malts, slightly smokey even, fresh, vague coffee, rounded with a mild, subdued and well integrated fresh herbal I’m guessing hoppiness. No bitterness really. Don’t come expecting hops and you’ll be in for a treat. This is a very good sweet(ish) porter!

50cl bottle @ Ljubljana Beer Shop.

On tap at Pivomaniaj festival. Poured dark brown, almost black and topped with a short lived beige head. Mild chocolatey nose with subtle roastiness, in the back there are some sweet and spicy hoppy notes felt. Medium bitterness, later on with coffee presence (which gains strength in the aftertaste). Some slight soury touch, a breath of whisky and slightly peppery in the end. Nice one, as always, though more on the gentler side.

On tap at Sir William’s Pub. Pours pitch dark, with creamy beige head that holds good retention, lacing until the end. Warming start (not alcohol) that expands from moderate to quite heavy bitterness of roasted malts, maybe tannin, which lingers too long and dominates the beer. Coffee. Medium body and soft carbonation, dry finish.
