100% Brettanomyces dark beer, fermented in stainless and aged in used red wine barrels. “Brett” is a unique yeast strain that produces flavors that would be offensive if they weren’t intentional. Flavors of sour cherry, tobacco, oak, and classic “Brett” barnyard funk, balanced by Dark Munich malt chewiness. Enjoy immediately or age at cellar temperature for a couple years.

Clear brown with a small beige head and good lacing. Aroma is woody and oak. Flavors of wood, oak, brett with a dry wine finish

Draught @ CBC. Pours hazy brown with a offwhite head. Aroma of malt, sourness, grapes, redwine, wood, light hops. Flavor is both sweet and sour, malt, grapes, pine, wood, redwine, light vinegar notes. Medium body, soft carbonation, acidic dry finish. 030513

Sample @ CBC. Nice head with good duration. Color is brown. Aroma and taste are brett, berries, malt, caramel and hops.

Draught @ CBC2013. Pours tiny hazy brown with a small beige head that quickly dissipates while leaving a small trace on the glass. Smell is sweet, sour and malty with biscuits, wood, sour charries, red wine vinegar, lemon zest, sweet dark bread, lemon juice, hay, pine needles and hints of acetic acid. Taste is tiny sweet, sour and malty with dark bread, red wine vinegar, moist wood, sour cherries, acetic acid, red currants, unripe blackberries, hay, lemon juice, lemon zest, pine needles and hints of dry soil and biscuits. Mouthfeel is slightly round, tart and medium bodied. Finish is sour and tart with dark bread, red wine vinegar, unripe red berries, wood and acetic acid.

Tap @ CBC. Dark amber/brown with small tan head. Aroma is malt, sour, fruit, caramel and baking yeast. Flavour is malt, sour, little acetone, caramel, dark fruits, yeast, little tart and a little toasted.

CBC. Hazy reddish brown with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and sour - fruity. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate acidic. Dry and moderate acidic finish. 030513

Draught @ Mikkeller and friends. Pours dark red, no head. Earthy, fruity and sour. Notes of cherry and strawberry seeds. Great balance!

Sample at CBC 2013, Friday. Clear darker red with a small head. Not that sour with wood, berries, malt, caramel and red wine. Refreshing and nicely drinkable.

Re-rate 5/2/14: Draught sample at Copenhagen Beer Celebration. 1st session. As Pentagram Brett. Deep amber. Aroma of brett, some lacto, some barnyard, lots of fruits (mostly berries) and oak. Sweet-sour flavor with brett, oak, ltos of cherries, some cellary character, barnyard and a vinous note. Rounded mouthfeel. Great. 8/3/8/4/16=3.9

[5/3/13] Draught at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2013. Deep amber-brown with a beige head. Aroma of oak, vinegar and some dark fruits. Sour flavor with cherries, plums, oak, a bit of vinegar, some malt and a bit of sweetness. Medium-bodied. 7/3/7/3/15=3.5
