100% Brettanomyces dark beer, fermented in stainless and aged in used red wine barrels. “Brett” is a unique yeast strain that produces flavors that would be offensive if they weren’t intentional. Flavors of sour cherry, tobacco, oak, and classic “Brett” barnyard funk, balanced by Dark Munich malt chewiness. Enjoy immediately or age at cellar temperature for a couple years.

Botte shared at the 10th Annual Epic & Unusual Beer Tasting, 11/29/15. Hazy red, medium fizzy tan head, good retention. Aroma of tart grape and berry, earth, mild caramel malt, hints of wood. The taste is tart berries, grapes, wood, mild caramel. Medium bodied, low carbonation, fairly clean. Nice.

Draught@CBC2015 (blue session). Murky reddish brown colour with a small slightly off-white head. Aroma is sour wood, some cherries, mild funkiness. Flavour is sour wooden and fruity notes with some mild sweeter malty notes as well as some mild almost toasted malty notes to it. Surprisingly easy to drink, the aroma got the expectations up for something rather sour, but it ended up being quite mellow as for the flavour.

Keg at The Hanging Bat. Impenetrable brown/ruby body with no head, even straight after pouring. No lacing. Aroma of brown sugar, wood and earth. Flavour of red wine, vinegar and sour berries. Thin body with a watery, slight oily texture. Light fizz. A complex beer, that’s a bit too sour and vinegar-like for my taste buds.
