100% Brettanomyces dark beer, fermented in stainless and aged in used red wine barrels. “Brett” is a unique yeast strain that produces flavors that would be offensive if they weren’t intentional. Flavors of sour cherry, tobacco, oak, and classic “Brett” barnyard funk, balanced by Dark Munich malt chewiness. Enjoy immediately or age at cellar temperature for a couple years.

Many thanks to Rian for sharing! Round smokey malty nose. Smooth-fresh. The smokeyness and the sourness don’t fit well. Sad because the combination is odd and doesn’t fit well. The aftertaste is sour-smokey, not round, not too complex. Strange idea...

Consumed many times, surprised I have not rated it. Dark brown color. Aroma has yeast and some berry. Flavor is a little sour, just a little, but lots of earth and some red wine, as well as a little vinegar. Good.

Taste comprises funky vibes, dark berry fruit, wood must, damp hay, apple core, light acidic vein. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close. Solid sour.

Enjoyed on tap at Jerry’s Sandwiches in Wicker Park while eating some lunch with a friend. Unfortunately I didn’t take tasting notes for this one, because there was a lot going on. Appearance was a copper brown with not much head. Aroma of sour cherries, oak, dried fruit. Taste was very tart at first but gets better as it warms, all of the common sour brew notes with a dry finish. Would have again for sure.
