Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Winter Ale

This year’s release of B-Bomb is aged in 8–12-year-old American Oak bourbon barrels and is a blend of 9, 12, and 24-month old barrel-aged Winter Ale. B-Bomb achieves distinct bourbon, oak, cacao, leather, toffee, and dark coffee notes from its extended barrel aging and barrel blending. Each barrel contributes a different note, and combining each barrel to create a coherent tone is a distinct art and true pleasure. Please do enjoy this unique barrel-aged ale today but know that B-Bomb will age gracefully for at least another 5 years. Don’t Be Afraid To Be Abominable.

Down & Dirty: 2-Row Pale, Crystal-120, Munich, Roast Barley, Carafa-2, and Chocolate malts with Columbus, Willamette, and US Goldings hops.

FORMERLY KNOWN AS BOURBON ABOMINABLE

Dark brown to black colour, slight beige head. Aroma of vanilla, bourbon, raisins, crème brûlée and malts. Sweet flavour, vanilla, wood, raisins and caramel. Full body. Very sweet finish, malts, brown sugar and bourbon. Nice!
(from 65cL bottle @ RBBSG IV, the Hot and Sweaty Edition, Gent 2015. I was under the impression it was 2013 vintage, but I see Tim and Ships are saying ’14 and ’15, respectively. Ah, well, we’ll never know now.. Thanks for sharing, JefVerstraete!)

Saturday night bottle share. Can courtesy of Syndicate. As if Abominable wasn’t good enough, along come the BA variant. Extra smooth texture, hints of bourbon flash through the rich stout base. Nice well rounded brew made better with some bourbon barrel ageing.
