SOME CAT FROM JAPAN suggested we do an IPA that is J-U-I-C-Y. So we packed up a pack horse and made it happen! Soft doughy and slightly tangy malt lies under bright citrus, round tropical fruit and mild pine resin hop aromatics that underscore the waves of flavors to come.

Pours murky mango into a shaker. Bright white soapy head with good retention recedes leaving spider lacing. Dusty mango and papaya aromas. Dry, with sweet mango, mild garlic and papaya upfront turning to dusty resin, peel and pith in the lasting finish.

Growler from Buy Rite in Cranbury, NJ. Cloudy orange gold color. Small beige head with great lacing. Perfumy, citrusy malt nose. Juicy citrus hop flavor. Biscuity malt backbone. Some pine and dank rotted clementine notes. Tasty. I drank it left hand, but made it too far. Became the special man. Then we were Ziggy’s band.

Bottle from Beacon Craft Beer Shoppe. Pours a murky orange color, kinda looks like grapefruit juice. White head, fairly heavy lace. Grapefruit / citrus rind with some tropical hops. Nice juicy flavor and clean bitterness. Average carbonation, mid-dry close. Very drinkable. Liked this a bunch.

Bottle shared by Willrunforbeer, thanks! Fresh bottling of 11/30/16. The aroma is bold Grapefruits, mango, and orange. Real fresh citrus.
Not really sure what the deal with the mixed reviews on this. This is citrus is bold and not very bitter. Good play among the malt and hops profile. Subtle and delicate mouthfeel and texture. Very tasty!

Poured into a becher pint glass.
The appearance was a hazy burnt yellow color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a light pace. Messy lacing.
The aroma had some big sticky orange juice rind-like bitterness. A slice of pine escapes underneath. Nice level malt balance.
The flavor balances between the juicy to pulpy citrus and then the rind. Smooth yet slightly bitter citrus aftertaste. Smooth quickly biting finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Mild carbonation, enough bitterness. Fine transition from the flavor to my tongue - wants to be smooth but comes across fairly oily.
Overall, very nicely done AIPA a bit more smoother than a lot of other AIPA’s these days, but that’s ok. I’d have again.
