This is the quintessential Short’s Brew, incapable of truly fitting into a specific style, Huma is big in every way it can be: big on bitterness, big on malt backbone, big on piney waves of citrus and wildflowers. This is Joe Short’s favorite beer, the first beer he poured at the Pub and the last beer we all pick up at the end of a hard day’s work or play.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 12/29/2014. Pours hazy bright orange color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, floral, grass, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Fantastic aromas with awesome complexity of bright citrus/pine hops and moderate malt balance; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, floral, grass, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good amount of pine/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon/orange zest, pine, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity of bright citrus/pine hops and moderate malt flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, sticky, and slightly creamy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an awesome IPA. All around great complexity of bright citrus/pine hops and moderate malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink for the ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.

330ml bottle at home. Golden orange color with off white head. Aroma is hoppy, piney, citrusy fruity and floral, light malty caramel too. Taste is sweet and heavy bitter, like the aroma, malty at the beginning, hoppy citrusy fruity, grapefruit, pineapple, pine, floral notes. Medium oily body with soft to average carbonation and bitter aftertaste.

"A complex malt and hop theme park in your mouth", sounds the advertisement on the bottle. American IPA with thick, gradually collapsing, sticky, pale yellowish head and warm orange blonde colour, clear with steady sparkling but turning a bit brownish after adding the deposit. Resinous hoppy aroma with grapefruit, mango, orange peel, mint, cloves, pine needles; fruity onset with light citrus touch, smooth and ’calm’ mouthfeel, some malt sweetness, quickly overwhelmed by a very intense, grassy and peppery hop bitterness reminiscent of grapefruit and tonic water, cloyingly dry, some yeast bitterness after adding deposit, complex and very satisfying. Great IPA.

I recently found the notes on this from a time I spent in Michigan.
Though no date, I poured this into a pint glass.
The appearance was a nice golden amber color with a decent transparency about it and a nice moderately carbonation rising at a nice pace to feed the one fingered white foamy head. There is a nice somewhat trickling stringy lacing gracing the sides of the glass.
The smell had a nice bitter to sweet hoppy (citrus-like to malty-like) flavoring running about my taste buds. There actually was no aftertaste but there was a dry bitter finish.
On the palate, it sat about a light to medium with a decent sessionability about it. The carbonation had a nice assault on my mouth and tongue as a good AIPA should.
Overall, this was a good AIPA well worthy of having again. There’s no disappointment here. This one delivers as it should.

Bottle. Mild hop aroma. Hazy amber colour. Small frothy white head. The flavour is nicely hoppy, with some grapefruit. Has a little yeasty note. Ends on a rather bitter and slightly rough note.

Bottle. Pours slightly hazy amber with small white head. Clear aroma of hops with notes of fruit and malt and touches of caramel. Bitter, hoppy flavour, with citric touches and a bitter, grassy finish. Decent.

Poured from 12 oz bottle. Clear orangey yellow with off-white head. Nice hoppy aroma. Hop taste with some very subtle nutty undertones. Flavours dissipate quite quickly in the mouth to a bland finish. Quite dry finish. Medium body.

On tap. Pours a clear amber with a tan head that dissipates to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has a combination of pine and citrus with a nice grain backbone. Flavor has notes of pine and grass that grows to a bit of resin with a grain backing.

Medium offwhite head. Hazy amber body. Strawy earthy toffee aroma with biscuity notes. Dry, and faintly sweet, resiny toffee and biscuit taste with citric notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dry resiny spicy pine needle aftertaste with toffee and rye crisp bread notes. Very nice and highly drinkable. (0.355l bottle from wine monopoly, Vika, Oslo.)
