From tap at Bierfestival Groningen 2016. Aroma is rye malt, zesty fruits, citrus, orange, very hoppy. Flavour is quite bitter. Body is medium. I’m particularly fond of rye IPA and this is a really nice example of the style. Crisp, fruity and bitter.

*rating overgezet 2016* Het is een troebel oranjebruin bier met een medium beige schuim. Het heeft een aroma van sinaasappelschil en hop. De smaak is hoppig en fruitig.

Bottle. Golden color. Aroma of grassy hop and grain. Taste has bitter grassy hop, herbs, grain and some malt. Needs more hop.

Bottle @ home. Hazy orange color, quite a lot of yeast residu floating in it, medium sized white to off-white head. Smell and taste malts, rye, some hops, orangepeel and fruitpeel bitter. Tastes more like a decently hoppy Belgian blond to me rather than an IPA, only the bitterness is too strong for that. Since I like bitterness that actually makes it better. Not nearly as good as I had hoped though.

33cl bottle. Pours a murky, muddy yellow with a thin white head with little retention. Smells like honey and unripe fruits or vegetables, and also papaya and pineapple. The taste is dominated by a "green" beer feeling (not matured enough) and alcohol.

33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Clear golden colour, white head. Aroma is sweet, ripe melon, peas, light floral, herbal, hint of candied lemon, a bit like a Belgian Blond Ale. Flavour is sweet at first, melon, peach, peas, malty, then herbal bitter, dry, long building herbal bitter finish that lingers. Medium bodied at best. Really not very good, expected more tbh.

Many thanks to Beerhunter111 for sharing this bottle! The beer starts floral fresh. A bit sweetish-grainy with not too intense floralness. The bitterness is oily-sharp, the hops are not too intense, but the bitterness is quite harsh with not too much aromatic. The body is quite sweetish, the beer is easy to drink but I miss the complexity.

gouden/oranje met schuimige witte kraag. aroma van citrus, zoet, sinaasappel. smaken zijn matig/redelijk zoet, zwaar hopbitter, sterk, sinaasappel/abrikoos, stevige smaken, metalig, erg hoppig (incl bitterheid), den, twijg, granig, dun van textuur, stevige rogge tonen, verder aardig bier maar iets té bitter.
