2017 bottle shared at Lucky Bamboo share. Pours a deep brown to black with reddish highlights and a small beige head that lingers. Cacao nib, brownie and raspberry drizzle on the nose. Smooth on the palate. Maybe a touch thin in the body with lots of bright, tart raspberry notes alongside baker's chocolate on the finish. A touch of black forest cake that lingers.

Ridiculously pitch black, fully opaque black coloured body with an oily glow and slick on top with a perfect, four to five centimetre tall rich deep brown head - very nice on top that leaves a decent lace on the side of the glass. Aroma of chocolate, light coffee, robust bitter malts and a little dose of lactose and full cream with the faintest hint of raspberries and a touch of lingering sugars and alcohol on the finish. Medium to Full-bodied; Robust malty flavour at first with a large hit of roasted malt, coffee, oatmeal, grain, alcohol, bitter nuts and earth and a good sweetness, but very deep and showing a lot of caramelised sugars throughout the finish. Aftertaste is deep and robust with the slightest note of raspberries to couple the cream, oatmeal, lactose, alcohol and roasted malts/oats, but the finish is quite nice, easy-to-drink and complex at the same time - not easy! I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased from West LakeView Liqours in Chicago, Illinois on 11-May-2016 for US$10,99 sampled at home in Washington just over two years later on 18-May-2018. This one seemed to age just perfectly - a robust smooth flavour of the alcohol, but some complexities and a great body/look on pour. I'm curious if this would have gotten even better in 4/5 years or if it would have lost body, character and effervescence; Great to sample now!

Bottle shared by Adam, thanks! Pours black with a grayish brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a raspberry and earthy dark grain notes with a bit of chocolate and roasted malts. Flavor has bitter dark grains and roasted malts with some tart raspberry and a bit of bitter chocolate.
