In the late summer of 2017 we debuted Stone Vengeful Spirit IPA, a tropical IPA brewed with pineapple & mandarin orange. Its purpose was to demonstrate the gloriousness whole fruit can add to our IPAs. It did so, with a vengeance. So we tasked ourselves with creating an even bigger and more aggressive version of the beer, packing it with extra hops alongside real citrus & tropical fruit. The result is Stone Revengeful Spirit Imperial IPA: a beer, like revenge itself, best served cold.

Backlog. Pours hazy copper and has a big citrus hop aroma. Flavor is very fruity, especially tangerines. Sweet malt and assertive hops balance well. The malt backbone is heavy enough that it’s moderately bitter rather than the high bitterness more typical of Stone IPAs and IIPAs. Medium to full body. Very good.

Can shared in London - big thanks to Fergus. Pours soupy orange with a creamy, white topping. Sugary and juicy, lots of tropical fruits, low bitterness. Full bodied and oily, with fine carbonation. Sweet tropical fruit finish, light piney hops, supportive pale bread. Drinkable enough.

Can split at L6 tasting, thanks to Fergus 22/08/19. Lightly hazed golden orange with an off white head that dissipates edgeward. Nose is grass, pine needle, orange pith, ripe melon, weed. Taste comprises sweet malts, bitter orange, light pine, grass, citric tinged straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with leafy hop bitterness. Decent enough easy drinking DIPA.

Fat The Rover.

Tap at Cask and Vine Hazy golden orange in color with a thin off white head that dissipates. Earthy lemony citrus and pineapple against a crackery bready maltiness.

Big bottle from BevMo in Dana Point. Hazy-ish deep orange-copper pour. Aroma is slightly muddy but dank tropical flavor - overripe pineapple and mango. Taste is similar, dank tropical bitterness with classic Stone resin. Fluffy slightly rich palate. Good.
