A modern beer style created by American microbreweries in the 1990s. Brewed with a “bigger is better” mentality, both malt and hop quantities are amped up considerably compared to more traditional IPAs. In a good Double IPA the strong hoppy overtones should always be balanced by a full-bodied malt body.

extremely juicy and aromatic traditionally US hopped aroma, reminds me of the best of lagunitas. almost salty notes, flowery, grapefruit. super nice. flavor is a total us hop assault, balanced by a solid malty base. it all fits very well together, really good stuff, it is a rare event that a scandinavian brewery hits this style 100%.

33cl bottle from Hopt, France. Pours loaded gold, with fine white foam. Aroma is citrus and fruity. Body is a little light, with moderate carbonation. Taste is medium bitter, with some sweetness too. Final is a little thin.
