Our flagship cider celebrates Tennessee and the Southeast. Down the Way is made using apples solely from orchards in our state and the surrounding region. We work with farmers each fall to come up with a balanced blend based on that year’s harvest — meaning every year’s Down the Way will be uniquely delicious.

Down the Way is available on draft or in our 750mL bottles. We recommend popping one of these chilled bottles with good company and serving it in wine glasses or snifters. Drink up, enjoy, and cheers to our farmers!

The 2018 Blend:
APPLES: Winesap, Arkansas Black, Pink Lady, Golden Delicious, & Granny Smith.

FRUIT SOURCE: Orchards in Tennessee and North Carolina.

RESIDUAL SUGARS: None.

ADDED FLAVORS: Nope!

SPARKLING? You bet.

GLUTEN FREE? Naturally!

ABV: Coming in at 6.8%

Bottle pour and draft at Craft Brewed. Brightwood is a new cidery in Nashville. Pours a clearish straw with a bit of white head that lingers, then dissipates. The bottle pour had a bit more head and carbonation. Light lemon and tart apple aromas with pear and bit of mild funk and hay as it warms up. Leans dry on the palate, but a little bit of fruit sweetness to balance the dry notes. Very refreshing. Draft had a bit less flavor than the bottle and seemed to come off closer to a sparkling water. Both finish with a welcome dryness. Too many American ciders are sugar bombs. I really like the recipes and process being used by Brightwood. Looking forward to future batches and ciders. Would love to see more farmhouse and funk notes like the great British and French ciders. A good start though. Draft: 3.5 Bottle: 3.8
