"Sometimes when you’re drunk you can see better."

This is the lager. This is the pilsner, the lager, the bottom fermented beer. This is the Captain on the deck, one of the lone lagers cruising on the ocean of ale. To Øl actually loves lager type beers, and sometimes lagers is missed out because of the many great ales present. Problem is that most people who brew lagers apparently has a taste of old dusty piss yellow obnoxious stale impotent beers. So now was the time to stir things up and tell the people how you can do a super hoppy, well balanced pilsner type beer!

Bottle at Flippin Burgers, Stockholm. Hazy amber with a large white head. Fresh aroma and taste of hops, pine, some malt, hay and grape. The finish was bitter. A tasty one.

Pours amber with a small head.Floral and fruity hops in the aroma, lots of peach and orange blossom. Some soft sweet malt too.Very hoppy, aggressive flavours. Lots more floral and fruity hops. Very bold, sharp bitterness, with little supporting sweet malt.Carbonation seems a bit full-on.

Growler. Rose gold with a white head that lasts well. Grapefruit, lychees, passionfruit flowers, some grain. Taste is mainly tingly hop aromatics, but there’s some clean grainy sweetness under there too (rather more would have worked for me). Bitterness is firm and the finish is dry. Hoped for a really good lager but just got more hops. Balance improved a bit as it warmed to 10-11C. The hops are fine enough to make it a nice dog in the manger.

Draft at Olsted Olbar. Pours hazy amber with a small off white head. Aroma of light citrus, grapefruit and caramel. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with light carbonation. More like a pale ale, amazing for the style!

Keg@Mikkeller & Friends, Copenhagen - Amber pour with light head and persistent lacing. Citrus hops and herbal notes dominate with a bitter finish, refreshingly good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

200ml draught at Mikkeller & Friends. Patchy surface and spotty lacework. Near-clear, dark apricot coloured body. Nose is herbal dry added by a fresh citrus touch. Tropical fruits and citrus peels joined by malty sweetness beneath. Rounded bitter ending, mid-dry. Nice (Copenhagen, 22.03.2013).

33cl bottle from The Bottle Shop, Canterbury. Hazy amber with a thin white head. Nelson sauvin aroma. Tough to say if this is a lager or not. Lots of NS all over it and then trademark sweaty sox comes in at the end. I mean it’s a nice drinkable beer. some of the NS is very good. I must have liked it though cos it disappeared in 5 minutes.

En trevlig törstsläkare. Välbalanserad med smak och doft av citrus och tropisk frukt. Lätt kropp, lagom beska och kolsyra med en lättsam beska.
