"Sometimes when you’re drunk you can see better."

This is the lager. This is the pilsner, the lager, the bottom fermented beer. This is the Captain on the deck, one of the lone lagers cruising on the ocean of ale. To Øl actually loves lager type beers, and sometimes lagers is missed out because of the many great ales present. Problem is that most people who brew lagers apparently has a taste of old dusty piss yellow obnoxious stale impotent beers. So now was the time to stir things up and tell the people how you can do a super hoppy, well balanced pilsner type beer!

Bottle courtesy of sebletitje, thanks Sebastian! The 33cl bottle pours into my Tilquin Gueuze glass with a clear copper body and thin gold edges and supports a thin dirty white head of foam. The aroma offers up a nice boquet of malt sweetend floral hops, citrus tangerine like hops and a touch of mango. It seems rather Simcoe like. Nicely hopped up fresh brew. Diggin’ this already. The taste is just as crisp and fresh and hoppy as the aroma hinted at. I get grapefruit and tangelo and a bit of bitter floral hops and a touch of onion dank hoppiness around the edges. The mild sweet malts create small islands of malt sweetened citrus hop flavor here and there. This is light crisp bold and refreshing. I wish I could get this on a regular basis in the summer. Terrific brew.

bouteille 33cl.

Draft at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012. Pours clear gold with a foamy, white head. Nice grassy hop nose, some urine. Good flavor, pleasant pale malts, pee, straw. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lightly sticky to finish with toasty straw, some grass and pee. Good balance here and nice character.

Tap at the Craft Beer Co - 14/09/12. Clear dark golden with a thin off-white head. Hops, grapefruit, grass and pine on the nose. Taste pretty much exactly as nose. Medium bodied, higher than medium carbonation level - slightly prickly. Crisp grapefruit flavour in the finish.

On tap at Fairbar. A cloudy, orange-golden beer almost without head, just some off-white bubbles. Rather piney and citrusy on the nose, some malty sweetness in the back. Mostly citrusy and piney flavour too, with the expected malty sweetness underneath. Pleasant bitterness. Medium body, a bit low on carbonation maybe. Bitter finish with malty sweetness to bring some balance. Easy drinkable, but a bit ordinary. 120820
