This is the lager. This is the pilsner, the lager, the bottom fermented beer. This is the Captain on the deck, one of the lone lagers cruising on the ocean of ale. To Øl actually loves lager type beers, and sometimes lagers is missed out because of the many great ales present. Problem is that most people who brew lagers apparently has a taste of old dusty piss yellow obnoxious stale impotent beers. So now was the time to stir things up and tell the people how you can do a super hoppy, well balanced pilsner type beer!

Shared bottle at local tasting. ABV is 5.2%. Deep golden colour, moderate white head. Distinct aroma of fruity American and NZ hops, notes of citrus, passion fruit and crushed gooseberries, a catty hint, also hints of spruce, Hoppy flavour, notes of spruce / resin and grapefruit. Nice one.

Medium, yellowish head over orange to amber beer. Grapefruit, passion fruit, lytchee, all the classical fruity hops. Fruity, very lightly caramel, grapes, passion fruit. Bit empty finish. Refreshing, medium bodied, slick, not very well-bodied. Oh well. Not bad, excellent hops, but not much else.

330ml bottle. Clear golden colour with huge, firm, frothy, moderately lacing, white head. Grassy, strawy, slightly floral hop aroma, a touch of juniper, decent caramel malt undertone. Taste is dry hoppy with a decreasing slightly fruity undertone, dry hoppy finish. Nice. 330ml can. Nice interplay of citrusy hop and malty spiciness.

Draught at Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen. Clear amber, small head. Distinct lychee aroma. Dry and hoppy, clean and crisp with light-medium body. Plenty of tangerine and lychee. Mid bitter finish.

33cl bottle shared with Dutchdrebus. Lightly unclear orange color, small to medium sized a bit soapy white head that diminishes quite fast. Smell lightly malts, very fruity and hops. Taste lightly malts, again very fruity, flowery, blossom and hops. Medium body and carbo.

Bottle thx to benzai. Golden, slightly hazy orange colour with a decent white head. Smells hoppy, bitter, orange, grapefruit, fruity, fresh, nice. Tastes like an ipa with low alcohol. Bitter, grapefruit, hops... Very nice. Could use a bit more body and a bit more taste. Great beer though. Nice carbo.

Tap @ Rotterdam, Helsinki. Poured amber with a thick, creamy everlasting, lacing white head. Aroma had citrus, pineapple, pine. Flavor was grapefruit, light caramel malt, pine and grassy notes. Thick, oily mouthfeel. Almost abit heavy to drink, but quite refreshing. for a premium lager, this was awesome.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear deep golden with a lacing off-white head. Fresh citrusy hops dominate the nose. Medium-bodied, very soft mouthfeel, a rather dry maltiness (would’ve loved a tiny bit more sweetness) and again fresh tropical hop notes that leave a dry hoppiness. A very simple and very quaffable little beer. 030712
