This is the lager. This is the pilsner, the lager, the bottom fermented beer. This is the Captain on the deck, one of the lone lagers cruising on the ocean of ale. To Øl actually loves lager type beers, and sometimes lagers is missed out because of the many great ales present. Problem is that most people who brew lagers apparently has a taste of old dusty piss yellow obnoxious stale impotent beers. So now was the time to stir things up and tell the people how you can do a super hoppy, well balanced pilsner type beer!

330ml bottle into lager glass. Pours a slightly hazy golden copper colour with swarms of tiny tiny bubbles. Perfect white head, looks amazing. Laces well. Nose is bready and malty. Clean, light mouthfeel. Finish is cleansing and beautifully balanced. Nutty, earthy, fruity, chalky with a malt backbone. Great, great lager.

33cl bottle. Pours clear amber, with a dense white head. Citrus, resin aroma, flavour is slightly sweet, fruity and dry on the finish. Closer to an IPA than a lager and very nice for it

A bottle some months ago in the Ale House, Chelmsford. Poured a hazy amber/gold colour with an average sized just off-white head. Aroma of citrus, hop, pine, biscuit, caramel and bread. Medium sweetness and bitterness, quite dry. Towards medium bodied, average carbonation. Pretty decent and not what’s typically billed as ’premium lager’.

0.33 l bottle from ’drankgigant.nl’, best before June 2017. Clear, golden amber with a medium large, foamy, stable, white head. Sweetish, fruity-grassy aroma of peach, mango and passion fruit. Sweetish, slightly bitter, fruity-grassy taste of peach, mango, passionfruit and some honey, followed by medium long, rather bitter, grassy finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, very lively carbonation. Good!

33cl bottle from Beer52.com. An attractive golden amber colour with a tight cream head; sweet floral citrus aroma - think orange blossom; smooth in the mouth with a satisfying light malty body and lots of tropical fruit and bitter orange marmalade; and then a long dry bitter orange finish. A great amber lager.
