Fruity caramel aroma in the first touch, some roasted notes. Hazy amber color, quite abundant head. Medium sweet, lighter bitterness, bitter finish. Light to medium body. Quite pleasant beer.

Bottle from Seiyu for ¥150. Poured into an English tulip pint. Pours a clear brown amber with a small head that dissipates fairly quickly. Nose has a lot of caramel and a touch of fruit along with some wet hay. Taste is more of the same with a little bit of fruit as it warms up. Not a bad bitter. Finish is dry and slightly peppery.

5% a buck fifty from Seiyu online, dirt cheap so I decided to give it a shot. It’s brewed at Shephard Neame. Served in a half-pint glass. It poured a crystal clear honey amber with a thick creamy beige head that leaves ropy looking lacing. The nose is a big malty caramel, very sweet smelling. Medium bodied with a relatively soft mouthfeel that makes me think a bit of a cask ale. The taste is quite nice maltiness, a touch fruity, some caramel toffee fudge, a bit of woody notes and a satisfying green bitter bite at the end. Much nicer than yesterdays Kibidote and probably one of the best I’ve had from Seiyu’s bargain assortment of British beers.

0,5 l bottle from Seiyu supermarket, Komazawa-daigaku, Tokyo. They have started to import some British ales and prices are quite reasonable. Pours dark amber with a small head that disappears fast. Aroma not too specific, some acidity, a bit of malts and something sweet and fruity. Taste - mainly bitter. Some bread maltiness spreads over mouth and leaves nice bitter-dry sensation. It does have flavour, although a bit too one-sided for my taste. Would be good to session it at a real English pub.
