Keg at Man in The Moon, Stockholm. Near black with beige head. Chocolate nose with sweet licorice. Mid sweet with full body and dense, rounded mouthfeel. Licorice, chocolate and leather. Mid bitter finish. An harmonious Imperial Stout without remarkable features.

Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark brn/blk with a light tan head. Aroma is quite treacle. Full bodied. Flavor is very dark treacle, some chocolate, maybe some coffee. Basically the flavor is all about the malty sweetness and the mixed flavors modifying that are hard for me to parse. It’s certainly far from dry, and the bitter (burnt malt?) isn’t strong. Gets a little earthy. Dang tasty stuff. I see the other ratings. Not really agreeing with them. Maybe this batch is greatly improved. I enjoyed it a lot.

Tap at Craft Hands. Thanks for sharing Jon. Deep brown to black with one finger of beige foam. Vanilla notes with dark overripe fruit, coffee, and burned molasses on the nose. Full-body with a well-rounded mouthfeel but sticky with burned sweetness on the palate. Booze starts to come out as it warms. Lots of bold, burned and fruit flavors meshing together, but a little harsh. Finish is burned molasses.

I really hope this is what I’m drinking. Poured into a tulip glass showing pitch black with a finger of latte colored foam. The nose shows lightly roasted coffee. The palate shows light carbonation and a medium body. Light coffee on the attack then big vanilla notes on the mid palate and a bitter finish of roasted coffee and a hoppy bitterness.
