East IPA unites the far-flung global roots of the style into a uniquely balanced IPA with malt-driven notes of toffee rounding out pleasantly bitter and aromatic hops.
Brooklyn East India Pale Ale, originally a summer seasonal, has been getting raves since becoming a year round offering in 1996. English malts and hops are used to brew this EIPA in the classic, heavily-hopped style of the 19th century beers.

Can. Nose had pronounced yeast, fruits, apple, lychee, a little malt. Taste is fruity, red berry, peach, lychee, hint of lemon, fruit and caramel finish. Mouthfeel is smooth. It’s a traditional ipa with me world hops. Nice

Diminishing head, but lasting throughout the glass. Less pronounced flavor, malty and fruity. Bitterness becoming thinner, going to sweet, lasting finish. Very light, although alcohol can be felt.

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle, best by July 2016, poured into a snifter. Clear light orange with small white head. Aroma is citrus hops, medium body, lower carbonation, and some lacing. Taste is citrus hops with nice malt backbone. Solid beer.

355 ml. bottle. 17/12/2015 bottled. Lightly hazy oily amber orange, little head. Nose is bitter harsh oily pine resin, low fruity qualities hops with substantial malt base, grainy caramel & dark bread malts. Taste is bitter herbal oily pine resin & flowers with herbal caramel & toffee malts, bitter oily tea, earl grey, light vanilla sweetness in the back. Meltier than you average IPA (it is not super fresh), tad aggressive but it suits it well. I definitely get the English connection / deScription. Tastes a bit like a mix between Brooklyn & Goose Island Goose IPA. Not your typical USA IPA que the English thing (it is more English inspired than anything classical or modern Britisch) but I rather like it. Between this, their Lager & magnificent Sorachi Ace, this brewery has a very solid standard line-up I get their popularity even if I didn’t care at all for Black Chocolate Stout.

Aroma is a pleasant hope malt approach. Flavor’s out of balance though- wrong blends of the bitter, sweet, and tart components. Thanks to Dustin for the sample.

Copper colour, almost perfectly transparent. Head is small but dense and persistent. In the aroma, pine is the main note, nicely backed by a solid bready foundation. Some lemon and a spicy hint are also detectable. Taste closely reflects the aroma, with a very clean profile. Finish and aftertaste are dry and bitter, but not overly so. Medium body, light to medium carbonation, quite smooth. Clean, refreshing and perfectly balanced. Not impressive, but sure well crafted
