This Vienna Style Lager shines with soft and clean toasted bread notes. Light filters into a tree-lined courtyard, somewhere in the distance classical music can be heard. Quietly, Hans types his scribbled notes into a manuscript pausing to adjust his wire-rimmed glasses and take a sip of his lager. He smiles.

Can. Cloudy golden body. Short white head. Aroma of raw grain, toasted grain, DMS, hay. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/chalky texture, moderate carbonation. Lots of raw, husky grain in the taste. And some DMS and some hay. Thick, dirty mouthfeel. Yuck. Drain pour.

Sampled on draft this beer poured a medium golden color with a medium sized foamy white head that left decent lacing. The aroma was sweet, tangy and yeasty. The flavor was sweet, tangy and yeasty with honey and a touch of golden fruit. Medium length finish. Medium body. Decent.

12 ounce can into lager glass, canned on 12/6/2017. Pours slightly hazy medium golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big cracker, bread dough/crust, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness/pepper, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of bready malts and earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big cracker, bread dough/crust, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness/pepper, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of cracker, bread dough/crust, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, pepper, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of bready malts and earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance; and zero astringent flavors after the finish. Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Perfectly clean on lager flavors, with zero yeast notes present. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth and moderately bready/grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.8%. Overall this is an awesome Vienna lager. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of bready malts and earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink; with the modestly bitter/drying finish. One of the most impressive Vienna's I've had, very flavorful for the low ABV. Very clean and rich Vienna/Munich malt flavors with balancing earthy hops. A really enjoyable offering, and perfect example of the style.

Tap pig iron. Pale lager color. Foamy creamy head. Perfume sweet aroma that readily carries over to the taste. Some vienna attributes. Quite flat. More than your typical pale lager fer sure. Sticky sweet vienna finish. A little less than expected.

Can from Discount. Pours a deep gold with some orange highlights and tiny white head. Light bready nose. Bit of grain on the palate. Well-balanced but malt-forward. Faint peppery hops linger but nice and drinkable. Style-solid.
