Can from the brewery Solid black in color with a tightly bubbled khaki head that slowly fades. Rich roasty caramel and chocolate with earthy spicy hops to counter and a hint of warming alcohol. Tasty beer but feels like a roasty stout more than a chocolatey porter.

Pours mahogany tinged black into a shaker. Mocha head with medium retention recedes to hug rim. Dark chocolate, roasted malt, and molasses aromas. Thick with toasted marshmallow, dark chocolate and espresso upfront turning to light citrus, soy, and earthy multigrain sourdough toast in the warm, lasting finish.

Can shared at Lucky Bamboo share. Pours a pitch black with a finger of brown head. Big coffee, roasted espresso nose with with cacao nib aromas. Dry on the palate, quite roasty with some caramelized malt sweetness. Dry finish with more espresso notes.

4 oz. at the source. Near black color, full slow dying head. Aroma is a mild amount of coffee, light chocolate hints, mild caramel candy tone. The flavor begins coffee upfront, chocolate notes and again caramel and coffee hints. Body is pretty good for a porter, except it is a bit fizzy in the carbonation level.

Taster pour at the brewery. Appearance is dark brown to black with thin ring of beige head and no lacing. Aroma is huge roasted malt with coffee and dark chocolate. Taste is stronger chocolate than aroma, roasted malts, coffee. Palate is full bodied with smooth, thick texture, lively-to-fizzy carbonation and dry bittersweet roasty finish. Overall, bold and delicious with only fault being too carbonated.
