Similar to an American lager, this beer is perfect for a warm summer day. Like its namesake, the ingredients are simple—slightly sweet corn balanced with bittering hops. Nothing Fancy is an all-day brew with a flavor you deserve.

So, here is an interesting beer. According to the description, it's suppose to be made of corn. I really didn't taste the corn. It was just like a average tasting beer.

From a pint can. Pours a clear pale gold with an off white head. Aromas of rye and corn. Flavors are moderately bitter offsetting sweet malts. Decent for the style.

16oz can c/o BenT. Big, foamy, white head atop a filtered yellow-tan body. Fast rising carbonation bubbles within. Smooth, easy, medium bodied. Doesn't lean into the corn that much, and the filtration keeps it clean. OK.

Draft at Butcher and Bee, Nashville. Pours hazy pale gold with a white head. Aroma and taste is lager-like, light malts. Faint vanilla. Bland finish.

Draft at the source. Pours a clear, glowing straw color with a bright, white head that lingers. Light grain on the nose. Clean and crisp, no frills. Light corn-like sweetness comes in, but peppery hops dry out the finish. Pretty solid cream ale, although not a style I gravitate towards. --- Beer merged from original tick of Nothing Fancy on 14 Jan 2018 at 11:44 - Score: 7. Original review text: Light grain on the nose. Clean and crisp, no frills. Light corn-like sweetness comes in, but dry finish. Very drinkable.

Pounder: Corn husks nose. Clear yellow, thick sticky head. Corn, barley malt, hay. Medium body, soft carbonation. As advertised, no off flavors or aromas.

Spot-on for the style, which is both a positive and negative, since cream ales are kinda blah beers regardless of their pedigree. Corn comes through in the middle, sweet and dominant, yet the mild Euro-hop bitterness on the finish shores it up. Not great, yet a worthy transition beer for newcomers to craft.

Light straw and some cream like Borscht. Easy drinking and light. Golden pour with ok head and lacing. Tap at brewery.
