Pipeworks Smoked Porter is brewed with classic rauch malt and cherrywood smoked malt, totaling 20% of the grist. This first offering in our smoked series starts with a rich malt base with hints of roast, finishing with a moderate level of smoky campfire-goodness. We’ll be brewing this one with different levels of smokiness throughout the year, so we’re sure to find something with just the right amount of smoke for you! - Bottle Conditioned - open & pour with care.

Bottle from a trade with Pawola22. Batch #11. Pours dark brown color with tan head. Aroma of roasted malts and moderate smoked meat. Smoked and roasted malt flavor with some milk chocolate. Slightly ashy. Medium body with moderate carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel. A nice smoked beer that’s not as in your face smoked malt as the Schlenkerla beers.

Bottle at the CP&K, Scopey’s Birthday Bash. Opaque black beer, big pale tan head. Smooth palate, quite airy, soft and dry. Mild mild dark malts with an equally mild tang. Mellow smoke. Nice subtle dried fruits underneath. Finishes with a little woody dryness. Easy going smoked beer.
