Apparently Chasing Rainbows ain't my thing; not a huge fan of the first two, while the third in the series is the weakest, offering up a front-loaded burst of tropical citrus hops before collapsing into a mildly bitter, bland finish. Starts with a splash of lemondrops, melon, grapefruit, mango, berry, and herb, but any solid profile dissipates quickly into a pine-laced soapy back end, almost Session IPA-ish in its lack of heft or staying power. The aroma's the best part, big and juicy with tons of berry-citrus hops. Pours a hazed yellow-gold with a weak white head and ample lacing. Texture's a tad thin but agreeable. Not Bearded Iris at their best.

Draft at the source. Pours a hazy straw with a finger of foam that lingers. Super dank nose with lots of dried durian, coconut and lychee. Some cat piss and white grapefruit pith come out as it warms. Dry on the palate, not much else besides a yeasty-like dryness and pithy citrus. Not bitter per se, but just not much character. Killer nose though. --- Beer merged from original tick of Chasing Rainbows Three on 08 Oct 2017 at 22:39 - Score: 7.
