Bottle at a bbq. Pours clear golden, nose is floral, toffee, esters, herbal, taste is similar, spiced.

Keg at Bottle Shop Bermondsey - Londkn. Pours clear yellow-gold with a big, fluffy white head. Nice crispy wheat in the nose with accents of herbs and dry saison yeast. Medium sweet flavor with nips of alcohol, pale bread, biscuits, grass, hay, lemon. Medium bodied with active carbonation. Light warmth to finish, some pale bready sugars, mild herbal bitterness, some meringue, hints of pepper. Tasty.

This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a soft hazy burnt orange with a slight transparency about it. A slim white quarter finger’s worth of foamy head quickly dissipated into the beer.
The smell started off with a sharp sweet breadiness with an ample amount of coriander, thyme, lavender, and graced gently with an underscore of lemon zest.
The taste started off semi-spicy with the breadiness becoming slightly sweet. A light sweet bready aftertaste accompanies into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was somewhat subdued but made the feel semi-smooth over my tongue.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good saison - Stone style! I’d have this again.

Bottle. A lightly hazy golden beer with a dense, off-white head. The aroma is rather spiced, cinnamon and cardamom I think, with some citrus and resin. It’s dry and medium bodied with a tad too much carbonation. Nice bitterness in the flavor, with citrus, some herbal and spiced hints, some black pepper and a faint chili-like touch. Orange zest hints and some pine cones. Long, fruity and lighlty spiced finish. Nothing impressive going on here. Guess it would have been more interesting without the spices. 150622

Bottle 355ml @ Hotel room, The Latham Hotel, Philadelphia, PA
Pours hazy golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, yeast, yellow apples and some herbs. Taste is light to medium sweet and light to medium bitter with a long dry, yeasty, herbal and fruity finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

bottle - Pours hazy straw colored with a one finger white head. It smells of yeast, spice, and citrus. The taste is similar but also with what is a fairly strong dose of hops bitterness for the style. It finishes dry and overall is alright, but I hate to say it for one of my favorite breweries, not that great to me. Average.

Aroma: The nose is full of peppery and other spices with some lemon zest as well
Appearance: This one is clear and gold in color with a large, frothy, white head, and plenty of lace
Flavor: The pepper definitely dominates the flavor as well, zesty, lightly sweet, and light-mid bitter
Palate: The body is medium, it has a lively carbonation, and a long, peppery finish
Overall Impression: I can't think of a more peppery saison (or any style of beer for that matter) that isn't described as a pepper beer. It's really pepper-forward and pepper-finished, but the zest/rind flavors come out in the mid-palate. Not my favorite. For me, a guy who almost always loves Stone, and for whom Arrogant Bastard is he beer that made me realize stuff more flavorful than Boston Lager exists, this is a rare (near) misfire from them. (I intentionally avoided crime and punishment, so I can't speak for those.) I didn't hate it or anything, but my Stone expectations are higher than this.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Naama’s place. Thanks zvikar. Hazy golden with a white head. Spicy aroma with thyme, other spices and a lemony note. Flavor has mild malt sweetness, yeast, spices and citric note. Finishes bitter and spicy. Medium-bodied.
