12oz can brought back from TN by BenT. Medium bodied. Pleasant roast chocolate notes, but never sticky or heavy. Doesn't really have a German taste to me, but it is still an enjoyable beer. I could drink a lot of this, very sessionable.

Dark reddish brown color with an earthy aroma. Taste is roasted malt and slightly sweet without the coffee of many dark beers. Crisp hop finish.

Oooh a new brewery to me.$1.95 pint can, Wine Warehouse. Pours dark brown, slightly darker than cola, with a small tan head. Aroma is toasted malt, light chocolate, light ash. Flavor is toasted malt, light chocolate, caramel, taffy, light coffee. Good.

Draft. Chocolate malt and hay aroma. Dark brown with moderate head. Moderately sweet chocolate malt and mildly bitter hay flavor. Good body. A very solid Dunkel.

Rachel brought this one back from a trip to TN. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with orange highlights and a huge tan head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was toasty and woody. The flavor was bitter and sourish with roasty malts, wood and astringency. Long finish. Medium body.

Draft at Martin’s BBQ downtown. Pours a clearish brown with a small finger of foam. Dark chocolate, light coffee and caramel notes. Clean with some nice roasty character. Some peppercorns on the finish underneath the caramel and dark chocolate. With all this going on, never cloying and goes down like water. DIggin’ this one!

Bottle from IGA, Cookeville, Tennessee. Brown with a thin head. Has inoffensive dark malts, although nothing too tasty. Its nose provides some better character.
