Lord, I’m honestly worried I might be getting delicious DIPA fatigue from BI’s constant onslaught of good beer. Ever Clever strikes a lovely balance between a hazed juicy NEIPA and old school imperial IPA sweetness, with a lemondrop and caramel base offsetting the unrelenting tropical fruit hops. Berry, peaches, stonefruit, dank weed, lemons, oranges, bubblegum, green pepper, black pepper--all the usual hop suspects are here, but the malts add a firm sweet backbone, not as hefty as a Founders or Stone DIPA, but enough to keep Ever Clever from growing one-sided or too easygoing. Could use more bitterness, sure, but resinous IPAs aren’t Bearded Iris’s bag, so I won’t complain too much. Creamy texture keeps the alcohol hidden, and the massive tropical-citrus-weed nose proves irresistible. Tasty, tasty beer.

Can from Craft Brewed. Pours a hazy goldish orange with a finger of fluffy foam that lingers. Tons of mango and papaya on the nose with a touch of dank as it warms. Sweet on the palate with lots of pineapple and mango...a touch boozy though. Still solid stuff.
