Music has been a part of Dogfish Head since before Dogfish Head. So it’s a natural fit for a brewery that makes ‘Analog Beer for the Digital Age’ to be the Official Beer of Record Store Day, a celebration of the unique culture of record stores and the special role they play in their communities.
Of course, as the Official Beer of Record Store Day, we had to create a special brew for the occasion! Now for the second year, that’s just what we’ve done with Beer To Drink Music To. In volume two of this celebratory ale, this Tropical Blonde is brewed with hibiscus flowers and kiwi juice. It’s the perfect marriage of beer and music and best when paired with some of your favorite tunes.
Clocking in at 6.8% ABV, Beer To Drink Music To ’17 is a pinkish-red brew with forward notes of tropical fruits with hints of berries and floral.

A unusually red/amber body for a Blonde Ale! Soft, well laced white head. The nose is understated with fresh and tart fruitiness and a touch of honey. This is a clean and crisp blonde ale that is nevertheless quite dense, full bodied and satisfying. A sweet tropical fruit cocktail with kiwi, melon, grapes, honey sweet malt and a hint of cherries. High to medium carbonation helps keep this from getting cloying.

Bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours gold with a white head. Aroma is fruity/floral - tho not strong for me. Med body, almost. Flavor is sort of strawberry with floral perfumeness. Delicate stuff. Flavors aren’t very strong, and it’s not very bitter. Ok drink tho.

12oz bottle. An interesting, unique beer. The kiwi juice sort of takes center stage, but their is enough malt heft and body to give it some depth. Hibiscus is mild, adding some faint cherry touches. Brewed with some finesse, not as much of a mess as a lot of modern fruit beers. Pretty good.
