A Mexican style lager brewed with limes, Anson Mills Grits, & Flor Blanca Mexican Sea Salt.

FORECAST says it’s time for something to pass these waning summer days. Motueka & saphir + fresh squeezed lime juice, sea salt, and corn grits meld together as seamlessly as the tides shift, painting a wide-sunset Mexican style lager that’s as crisp and refreshing as diving under that first wave.

TASTING NOTES: just, add, lime

Can from brother: pours clear gold with white head. Aroma is limey, corn corn corn. Taste is sweet with a slightly sour finish. Salt adds nothing. Mediocre.

Tall can. Mostly clear yellow with a white head. Light, spicy, grassy aroma. The flavor is salty lime water and a faint beer flavor.

Okay, I really like Bearded Iris, but--holy hell--they've apparently given us a craft-brewed version of Miller Chill. And of course their version is better than Miller Chill, but it's still a bland pale lager with an outsized lime-n-salt streak, one that grows overbearing when coupled with the inherent sweetness coming off the grits and grainy malts. Plus, lime juice kinda makes using Mouekas somewhat redundant, while the subtleties of the Saphirs becomes lost in the salted lime finish. Not bad, but not for me. Pretty, though.

Draft at the source. Pours a clearish, glowing hay color with a finger of foam that lingers. Lime forward nose with some grainy husk notes. Light salt and more lime and grain on the palate. Very crushable.
