Bone dry is right, with a West Coast bitter streak having nary a bit of malt sweetness to offset the resinous, clingy fade. Lemon, green onion, green apple, and pine add nice fruitiness, while the finish grows a moderate hop bite coupled with yeast and woodsy herbal notes. Seems a bit one-sided, like an Imperial Session IPA; I like the idea of the style, but this version might swing too far into the dry territory, leaving an acerbic, almost medicinal taste on the palate. Looks good and bubbly, though, and the texture's what you'd expect from a "champagne" IPA. Overall, makes me think more research with the style is needed.

Can from Craft Brewed. Pours a hazy silver that is kind of murky with a full 2 fingers of rocky, fine champagne-like head that dissipates. Soft tropical fruit notes, citrus and pine. Bone-dry on the palate with pithy, bitter citrus. Quite bitter on the finish as well with a long lingering dryness. Ugly out of the can, but I like the taste. Looking foward to this style and mayde draft or a batch 2. --- Beer merged from original tick of Brut IPA on 20 Jul 2018 at 13:20 - Score: 7. Original review text: Nice soft tropical fruit nose. Dry on the palate with w/ slightly more perceived carbonation. Bone dry with some faint melon and bitterness.
