Bottle. Copper in color with a small yet creamy head. Aroma and taste was a tad hoppier than what I think most Barleywines should taste like. For the most not too bad.

Can. 2022. Dark copper pour with a big sudsy beige head that has good retention. Aroma starts off with a big blast of hot alcohol followed by citrusy hops and something metallic. The taste was toffee set in a piney bitter malt base with hot alcohol on finish. The palate full and viscous. Overall: Disappointed in this one.

Bottle shared at Lucky Bamboo. Pours a clear deep copper to brown with a finger of foam that dissipates. Toasted caramel and milk chocolate aromas. More caramel and dark chocolate cookie flavors. Booze is hidden fairly well. Good sweet toffee flavors, but perceived dark chocolate cuts the sweetness and balances this beer well. Solid stuff. --- Beer merged from original tick of Snowbeard on 01 Jul 2018 at 11:17 - Score: 8
