Bottled. Hazy ruby. There’s some disturbing butyric acid in the aroma. Fairly sweet with hard mouthfeel. Low hop rate, low bitterness, low enjoyment rate...

I’m pretty sure this beer is brewed at Van Steenberge, not in Wetteren. Superfluously high head, light-brown, dense and fast retreating; opaque brown beer with reddish shine. Rich dark malts nose, chocolate cake, Belgian "truffles", bit of wood, slightly vinous. Again, sweet & vinous taste, touch of sweet chocolate and some wood, dried prunes. I’m sure molasses are used, but I wonder about spices - if so, they’re very cleverly dosaged. Velvety mouthfeel, creamy, but rather medium bodied at best. Not a heavy beer, but, along with its colour, that’s the message it wants to convey. With the body excepted, they succeeded.

A red beer with a beutiful beige head, though disappearing. The aroma is of yeast, spice, peaches, and melon. The flavor is of prunes, malt, and bread and is rather sweet. But the body is thin for being 6.2% ABV. But all in all it is an OK beer.

Cloudy amber color; persistent perlage; creamy head. Mature aroma, malt, caramel; fruity (prunes); sweet wood; pungent carbonic gas. Smooth, a bit sweet and sour, light fruitness and nuts; lightly woody and boisée. Quite sweet final. Original, really pleasant.

Hazy redbrown color, thick lasting head. Aroma is fruity black currant, sweet malty, raisin. Same kind of taste, soft and creamy. Lasting creamy palate. Nice brew.
