A hazy, orange-golden beer topped by a dense, finger-thick light beige head. Some lacings. Pale malts, citrus peel, some generic fruityness and a piney touch in the aroma. The flavor goes in the same directions, with pale malts underneath piney, citrusy and bitter hops. Full body, quite heavily carbonated. Bitter, fruity and citrusy finish that lasts for a while. A quite pleasant and easy drinkable one. 120817

33 cl. bottle @ home // purchased @ Hopduvel // completely unfamiliar with either the brewery or the beer but i had this one recommended to me as a solid American IPA styled beer // well-prized // packaging is not particularly impressive, looks like made on Photoshop or something // boastful marketing text on the bottle doesn’t impressive me terribly, I did learn that a total of 5 different hops were used, no idea as to which ones // appearance is quite lovely, bright amber orange, some bubbles rising, big, lovely white head, slowly sinking // smell is delicious as well, quite fruity, lots of passion fruit here but also papaya, mango, exotic fruits, some lighter caramel sweetness, lots of American hops goodness // taste is less impressive, little of the fruity hopiness that I got in the nose, stickier toffee, caramel malts, coupled with this alternative/bio grains/malts type of this, marmalade, finish is bitter, main thing being grass, good amount of it as well as some pine resin & touch of grapefruit // malt heavy, lightly grainy body, decent enough carb. fitting it well // not exactly according style or necessarily what I was hoping for but this is def. enjoyable
