Bottle shared in London - picked up at Mother Kelly's, Bethnal Green. Pours black-brown with a moderate, foamy tan head. Nice depth, plenty of pleasant cinnamon, graham crackers, chocolate, background roast, low bitterness, a little molasses. Full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. A little sticky sweet in the finish, more chocolate, toasted cinnamon, alcohol warmth, more molasses. Great fun overall.

Draft at Lost & Found. Poured a pitch black color. Aroma was light roasted malts, some rye spice character. Sweetness is a bit muted here. Light spices, bold roast. Okay.

Bottle shared at Lucky Bamboo GBS share. Thanks Matthew! Pours a deep brown to black with a finger of foam that lingers, then dissipates. Whisky forward nose with some chocolate and cookie notes. Peppery rye and spicy ginger on the palate. Body is a bit thin compared to the other variants. More chocolate, spice and lingering peppery flavors on the finish. Some whisky heat on the finish. --- Beer merged from original tick of Rye Barrel GBS (Gingerbread Stout) on 24 Mar 2018 at 18:37 - Score: 8
