A festival of English flavours featuring spice, nuttiness and caramel, nicely balanced with a mellow hoppiness. Pours dark amber with a deliciously dense creamy head and a warming malt aroma.

500ml bottle. Clear, faint, dark amber colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Fruity and minimally leafy, slightly citrusy, hoppy and mellow malty aroma, initial hints of red berries and corresponding shrubs find themselves widely replaced by condensed mandarine jelly notes, minimally nutty malty undertones. Taste is slightly bitter, dry, nuttily malty and slightly fruity hoppy, cautious hints of orange and mandarine, a leafy touch.

Cask handpull at The New Inn Colchester. Sweetish malty. Fruity. Good beer. Good condition and temperature. Good spicy hop finish. Touch of rye malt perhaps. Likeable.

Bottle from Two Brews in Colchester. A bright amber body, off-white head, clingy lacing. Malt-fruity smell, leaves and caramel. Similar taste profile of brown malts and leafy hops followed by a malt driven bitter end. Medium bodied. Nice. (Hotel room 13.07.2017).

Bottled 500ml (AbM)
Copper color, small steady beige head. Nutty, caramelly aroma with some English spicey hops. Medium-bodied. Good malty backbone, nutty, fruity hops. Clean and balanced. Maybe the best one from Bishop Nick I’ve had so far.
