Like a fine port, Old Stock Ale is intended to be laid down. With an original gravity of over 1.100 and a generous hopping rate, Old Stock Ale is well-designed to round out and mellow with age. It's brewed with classic Maris Otter malt and Fuggles and East Kent Goldings hops, all imported from England.

Taste is toffee, raisins, some nuts, nice malts and caramel-woody finish. Full bodied .Vvery good one!

This is a high rated beer apparently. I can see why but it's not my thing.

Had 2002 (bottle) and 2006 (keg) before in a distant past. This is for the 2015 bottled version. Clear copper to brown color. Off white, quickly receding. Aroma’s of berries, sweet, fruit soda. Retronasal it’s sweet berries, toffee, fruit candies. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet. Strong alcohol feel. Rather full bodied. Long finish with no new flavors. I remember this as having a bit more depth, but it might be my memory is playing tricks.
