2004 bottle, consumed 2006. Pours dark reddish brown w/ok head. Tried one too cold and another room temp. Too much alcohol for my taste, which made it hard to taste the flavor, but what there was was good.
Sweet and toasted malty with layers of toffee and caramel, dried fruit shred, brown sugar, medium body, spices running through into the malty finish. Nice.

Bottle. 2019 version. Amber copper in color with no head. Aroma is grains and fruitcake. Taste is complex fruity deliciousness.

nice amber color, nose is LOTS of malt, and cognac. flavour is very malty. Very interesting barley wine, i’m used to more of a hop profile, hops seem to be lost in here. Very nice warmness from the alcoho, it’s present but not too much, very nice!

On tap at Apex. Pours murky brown with an off-white head. Aroma is an incorporated malty caramelized fruit. Flavour has caramelized dark fruits, dates. Booziness is very well-integrated. Incredible barley wine.

Bottle via Beer Republic. 2022, 10,2% ABV. Med-full body, medium carbonation. High bitterness, pretty high hoppiness, grassy, resiny, piney. Medium sweetness and medium alco warmth. Quite intense overall, yet nuanced, easy sipping. Lots of chocolatey maltiness, toffeeish caramelly maltiness and dried fruits, raisins, light prunes. Very good.
