Like a fine port, Old Stock Ale is intended to be laid down. With an original gravity of over 1.100 and a generous hopping rate, Old Stock Ale is well-designed to round-out and mellow with age. It's brewed with classic Maris Otter malt and Fuggles and East Kent Goldings hops, all imported from England.

Pleasant caramel, toffee, mineral nose. Sweet and bitter taste. Round finish. Simple and quite nice.

Sample at Daily Growler Powell. Dark brown pour with some mahogany around the edges, and a medium light beige head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing. Aroma of roast malt, fruit and hops. Medium to full body with flavors of roasted malt, caramel, fruit and earthy hops. The finish is malty up front with a mild hoppy aftertaste. Good beer year after year.
