1516 Kellerbier was first brewed to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the Bavarian Reinheitsgebot (purity law for beer). The first sip of this amber-orange-coloured Kellerbier reveals a touch of caramel. Its fresh and fruity aroma is owed to the chosen hops and accompanied by a pleasant bitterness.

0.5 l bottle shared with Ogi, thanks, it's hazy orange, medium creamy white head. Bready, soft spicy aroma, also a fruity touch. Medium body, quite drinkable. Nice soft bready aroma, some spice, some yeast, dough. Minimal hop character. Dry.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Clean keller nose. Stunning and bizzare orange gold, like a geuze. What you would want from a keller - easy drinking, no rough edges. A slight sweet fruity note at the end. Gentle boozy finish. Nice.

Bottled (from Systembolaget Rådhuseplanaden, Umeå). Pale orangeish golden colour, small white head. Grassy grainy and mild herbal tones. Flavour is grainy, herbal, grassy and some mild bready tones. Nice balance.

Pours gold with a one finger white head. It smells of grainy malt with some caramel and a touch of fruit. The flavor is on the sweet side with grainy, bready malt and mild hops bitterness. Crisp and easy drinking.

(Bottle) Pours clear amber with no head. Aroma of caramel and cardboard with some fruity hints. Nice palate - smooth, medium bodied with fine bright carbonation. Pleasant taste with caramel and some gentle balancing fruitiness. The barest hint of bitterness. Pleasant easy drinking smooth beer.
