Bottle. A big, white head. Dense, white head leaving lacings over a clear, golden body. Grainy nose with some cooked corn and dusty cellar. Pale malts, fruityness, hay and some cellary hints in the flavor. A decent bitterness chimes in towards the end. Medium body, dry and with a smooth carbonation. Overall, a decent beer, but I’ve had better German pilsners. 120107

One of the most common beers in Hamburg and Schleswig Holstein region. Malty slightly bitter when fresh, a bit older bottles get a skunky touch even way before the BB date. Mediocre.

0.5l can. Pours a crystal clear golden body with a medium fading white head. Aroma is really grainy and metallic, malty and lots of dusty hops. Sour, metallic and grainy taste. No way and no thanks.

Canned. Pale yellowish golden colour, mediumsized fluffy white head. Aroma is grains, bready malts, some starchlike sweetness as well as a mild metallic note as well. Flavour is quite alike, and also has some cooked vegetables in it. Cheap and bulky.

50cl Bottle from Aktiv Markt, Trier. Clear dark golden colour, white head. Aroma of sweet malts, some grain and apples. Flavour is light sweet, light malty, light hoppy bitterness. Has a bit of a cardboard texture upon swallowing. Light bodied, bland. Tastes very much like a Dutch macro pilsener/lager, and that is just what I was not going for.
