Massively dry-hopped American Sour Ale. Amorous is aged in red wine barrels for approximately 8-10 months and then dry-hopped with over 3.5 pounds per barrel. We love this beer both fresh off the dry hop and cellar aged.

Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks Amit. Bottled 10/23/15. Cloudy yellow-golden. Lovely aroma of tropical fruity hops, lacto, and a faint buttery hint. Tart flavor, lactic, very fruity, with some oak. Medium-bodied. Great and refreshing.

Draft. A hazy golden beer with a lazing white head. The aroma has notes of brett, wood, hops, and citrus fruits. The flavor is sour with notes of lemons, brett, straw, alcohol, hops, andwood., leading to a bitter finish.

500 mL bottle shared with Tim. Hazy gold color, with a small, gray head. The nose is lemon juice, caramel, chardonnay, green apples, lactose, and black pepper. Fairly dry, with a big, pleasant sourness. Medium body, sharp, acidic, and nicely effervescent and crisp. This is a lovely sour, with great flavor and mouthfeel.

Bottle shared by Ferris. Date bottled: 10.23.15. Looks like the 2015 version drops the Royal Cache. Aged in red wine barrels and abv is 7.096 (decimal much). I don’t like the idea of sourness (acetic or lactic) with bitter hops. However, this hoppy sour is not that way. Looks like they didn’t boil hop a lot and the dry hopping also isn’t that strong, I guess it’s been a while. The beer is mostly one demensional light acetic sourness. Leaves me wanting more than just restrained sourness.

375mL bottle, pours a cloudy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out massive dry hops, some tartness and some funk. Flavour is very floral in the hop department, with tons of flowery hollowness, medium tartness, and slight acidity on the finish. Unique flavour profile. A super floral dry hopping quality on the finish. Very good.
