Bomber from the Beer Store in Frazer. Very dark brown with a rich tan head, lightly carbonated. Mocha malt flavor, mild smoky hops finish. More Yoohoo like when colder, hops edge starts to be more pronounced as the beer warms. Good quality imperial stout but not really a standout within this style.

Pours dark brown into a tulip. Mocha head with medium retention recedes to hug rim. Sweet oatmeal and chocolate aromas. Soft with dark chocolate and caramel upfront turning to roasted coffee in the lasting finish.

Draught @ BBB. Pours black with a creamy dark mocha head that leaves lots of sticky lacing and trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty and earthy with roasted malts, caramel, dark bread, roasted cereal, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, dried pine needles, moist soil and hints of orange peal. Taste is sweet, bitter, malty and earthy with roasted malts, dark bread, caramel, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, dried pine needles, moist soil, pears, liquorice and hints of alcohol. Mouthfeel is fat, slightly viscous, round, roasted astringent, tiny boozy and medium to full bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with roasted malts, dark bread, caramel, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, liquorice, dried pine needles, moist soil and hints of alcohol. Very solid US imperial stout!

22 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 10/28/2014. Pours pitch black color with a 2 finger dense dark tan head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, toffee, toast, dark bread, licorice, raisin, light smoke/char, and roasted earthiness. Outstanding aromas with awesome complexity and balance of dark/roasted malt and light-moderate dark fruit notes; with great strength. Taste of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, toffee, toast, dark bread, licorice, raisin, light smoke/char, and roasted earthiness. Good amount of roast/charred bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, toffee, toast, dark bread, licorice, raisin, light smoke/char, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity and balance of dark/roasted malt and light-moderate dark fruit flavors; with a nice roasted bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very smooth, creamy, and lightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic Russian imperial stout. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roasted malt and light-moderate dark fruit flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the abv. A highly enjoyable offering.
